Almonds

Another great superfood that I always have in my pantry is Almonds.  This healthy alternative to a snack has an incredible vitamin and mineral profile!

 

A few healthy benefits and tips below, based on 1 ounce:

* Vitamin E, prevents free radical build-up 

* Magnesium, relaxes blood vessels 

* Calcium, for strong bones and teeth

* Phosphorus, assists Calcium in the formation of strong bones and teeth

* Selenium, a trace element that assists in skin healing, and against

   bacterial and viral infections  

* Iron, formation of hemoglobin

* Omega 6 & 3 fatty acids, provides support for brain function, helps lower blood

   pressure, and lowers your LDL's, the bad cholesterol
